Most mundane items can be found without issue - basic foods/fuels/batteries, building material, kitchen sinks, etc - but certain things require mod approval. Junk Pile, yep. Or she can bring it up to an Acolyte, and they'll keep an eye out for said items in the Junk Pile; they're always scavenging for useful parts, but that may take even longer.

Since she'll be initially getting settled, it probably won't happen on the first day. It's mainly just characters that have come through at first.
