I've got this feeling like my veins are filled with nothin but gasoline

Thank you for applying at Re/Alignment. Before you’re accepted into the game, the appstaff would like to see revisions on the following;

--Personality elaborations: We know there isn’t a lot of canon to go off of, but we would like to see more in the personality section to give us a better idea of Joe’s character. Feel free to expand with reasonable extrapolations: how he likes to hit on random women at the bar, what that means, etc.

Please post your revisions within 72 hours. If this isn’t enough time, please let us know!

Joe tries very hard to put on a show of machismo and tough-guy-ness, in the tradition of those same old westerns and 1950s motorcycle gang movies he's sort of based on. Hitting on the girl at the bar is his way of puffing up his chest and trying to look both tough and sensitive, to try to impress someone, anyone, and get them to pay attention to what he has to say. Obviously, this fails. He's definitely the type to keep hitting on women like that, again, because it's a way of being more masculine, it's what one is "supposed" to do when one is a badass motorcycle rebel guy.

A lot of Joe's actions can be seen as this. Though the actual lyrics he sings speak of a somewhat more nuanced depth to his personality, a soul searching for freedom with no small amount of poetry in his words, his actions in the liner notes really speak more to those of a frustrated 20something trying to get the world to listen to him for once.

In the end, that becomes the real crux of Joe's personality: that he wants, so desperately, to be heard. You get the sense that this night in the bar in Breaking Out is one of many, many nights, where he's said the same things to everyone, probably said that he's totally breaking out tonight, that this city's sleeping and won't any of you wake up, and that each night it's fallen on the same deaf ears; it's just that this particular night he's drunk enough and angry enough and with enough poetry and fire in his soul that he happens to end up taking the motorcycle out... and by sheer luck, Light's on the road he takes, otherwise he'd have ended up like every other young buck with a chip on his shoulder in Wily's city -- dead and vanished, another silent warning to the terrified populace.

Finally, as another note re: poetic soul and his actions towards the Girl in the Bar. Joe is a bit of a romantic at heart. If you look at his lyrics, speaking of fire and sunsets and revolutions, with real poetry in their construction, and at his actions, trying to steal a kiss, promising a woman he's just met that he'll totally come back for her no matter what, you can see that he's a man who lives at least partially in a fantasy world where He Is The Hero It Is Him. He wants the world to be one where you can fall into true love in one night at a bar upon hearing someone's passionate words, he wants to break this city of its chains and into brilliant sunlight. He believes in being the conquering hero, of coming back to your true love on your motorcycle, sweeping her off her feet, and then charging off into the sunset. It's just that the reality is very, very different. As such, towards women he's likely to be chivalrous, flirty, and... well, let's face it, more than a little misogynist, in that irritatingly well-meaning way, because he wants to be the knight on his... er, motorcycle (fiery steed?) coming to rescue the fair maiden.
